Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park guide shows you how to get there, attractions, activities and sample itineraries.
The land where Flamingoes flourish in the whole world lying south of central Kenya. The lake drives its name from the Masai Language meaning ‘’dusty place’’ this is because its soils loosen most during the dry season. This is the most visited destination in Kenya or everyone’s bucket list while in Kenya. It has featured in the most popular wildlife documentaries as the place where flamingoes flourish. The Disney character of ‘’Lion King’’ Pumba is from this place. Lake Nakuru is one of the rift valley soda lakes that flow towards the Eastern side. It’s a shallow lake with a lot of algae that’s why the flamingoes flock towards the shoreline. Its surface can’t be seen since it’s covered by millions of flamingoes and you only see the pink and white colors of the birds.
